The Cannabis Society is dedicated to fostering the cannabis community through events, conferences, dinners, and more. On October 29th we hosted industry experts, entrepreneurs, investors and service providers for our Cannabis Society Business Conference Northeastern University Toronto at First Canadian Place. Guests had the chance to mingle and enjoy cocktails and snacks while hearing from some of the most innovative minds in Canada’s cannabis industry.

After The Cannabis Society made opening remarks to the crowd assembled, Niel Marotta, President, CEO, Director & Founder at Indiva made a keynote address about the rapid growth his company has been experiencing post legalization, and the work his company is doing to provide Canadians with high-quality, consistent medical cannabis. 

Dr. Stephen F. Amato - Faculty Director of Graduate Regulatory Affairs/Quality Assurance/Advanced Manufacturing at Northeastern University then made a keynote address about common issues companies can navigate when attempting to become a licensed producer in Ontario.

After a brief snack break, Stephen Verbeek, CEO of Hello Cannabis, gave a keynote speech about the ways his company is working to educate medical cannabis patients as they navigate this new therapeutic space. Hello Cannabis aims to inform Canadians about medical cannabis and guide patients through the process of using the plant for healing purposes in a safe, legal, informative way.

After Stephen’s keynote speech, a panel took the stage to discuss the process of marketing cannabis post legalization. Joining the panel was Tara Martin, Co-Founder & CMO at Jadeo, Jay Berard, Founder and CEO at Jagger, Mitchell Osak, Managing Director of Strategic Advisory Services at Grant Thornton LLP and Eric Vengroff, Publisher at Cannabis Daily.

A panel about Cannabis Global Markets concluded the evening, joined by Nick Pateras, Vice President of Strategy at Lift & Co, Aliza Lakhani, CEO at Northeastern University Toronto, Robyn Rabinovich, VP of Business Strategy at TerrAscend and Brennan Kerr, Business Development Consultant at Cannabis Compliance Inc.
