The Cannabis Society is dedicated to fostering the cannabis community through events, conferences, dinners, & much more. On August 29th industry experts, entrepreneurs, investors and service providers came together from across the West Coast for Vancouver’s Cannabis Society Business Conference at Miller Thomson.
Guests mingled and enjoyed an incredible spread of snacks and appetizers at Miller Thomson’s modern downtown offices. A well curated group of professionals in the space were able to listen to informative panels and keynote speeches, while also getting the chance to mingle and network with another.
Sean Dollinger, CEO and President of Namaste Technologies, spoke to the crowd about the exciting sales licenses his tech company was hoping to secure in the near future, and ways he saw the tech side of cannabis as being an effective way to excel within the space.
Sean Delsnider and Darren Gill, two Senior Managers from Deloitte Canada, shared some interesting insights their company has put together using detailed research collected over a five-year period. Deloitte used data to observe what demographics were most likely to purchase cannabis post-legalization, and what purposes those groups would be hoping to use cannabis for.
Following Deloitte’s presentation, a panel discussion took place between John Salmas, a cannabis industry consultant representing Cannabis Compliance Inc, Sean Dollinger, CEO and President of Namaste Technologies, Nick Maltchev, CTO at Harvest One, Darren Gill, a Senior Manager at Deloitte and moderated by Alexander Lalka, a partner at Miller Thomson.
Through panel discussions, keynote speeches and networking opportunities that arose throughout the evening, guests had a rare chance to make deals and learn more about other executives taking advantage of this rapidly growing space.
